These are small damselflies where the males have mostly blue eyes (with some black),
blue thorax (with black shoulders) and a blue ringed tail.
The females are mostly green though sometimes light brown.
It is common and can be found throughout Australia,
particularly on vegetation around the edges of still or flowing water.
In Victoria it can be out from spring to autumn.
