These are medium sized birds (around 20cm long), black with white underparts and distinctive white eyebrows.
They can be found throughout Australia, except in wet forests, and are quite common,
including around human habitation.
They hunt insects on and near the ground, wagging their tail.
The photos above were of one I spotted on the lawn in the gardens.
As I started taking photos of it from some distance it flew up to a nearby bush and began preening,
allowing me to get these decent photos of an otherwise very active bird.
