Most places around Australia, particularly urban areas, are infested with the feral Rock Dove or Turtle Dove. I have noticed that in many parks in my area however there are quite a few of this Crested Pigeon.

These seed-eaters can be found through much of Australia in grasslands. In the second photo you can see their shimmering metallic green to purple patch on their wings.
