Murray River Into South Australia

6 February 2016

Through the last few days in the Mallee I found the flowering Melaleuca lanceolata to be very appealing to the local insect population. The one at Lake Cullulleraine was no exception, and indeed the best of the lot, with many species of bees and wasps (in particular) on this one tree, helped by its bushiness and dense flowering low to the ground.

Thanks to Brett Smith for helping me with the ID of a couple of species and Ken Harris for a couple of plants.
