Mitchell River Fungus

9 June 2014

Thought I'd try the warm temperate rainforest along the Mitchell River for some different fungus but in the end I didn't see that much and then not much different stuff, I don't know why. The most interesting sighting for me were some tiny disc fungi on a leaf — I'd only come across this genus a few weeks ago in the Otways. That was Torrendiella eucalypti growing on a Blackwood Wattle Acacia melanoxylon leaf. This time I saw it on a different leaf entirely, which is interesting because I don't think T. eucalypti had been observed growing on anything else before.
