15 December 2013
Started the morning with ANOS members enjoying the orchids and the view
around some of Victoria's high country.
We saw quite a few orchids but it just wasn't warm enough for the numerous sun-orchids to open up.
In the evening I went spotlighting for frogs and roosting dragonflies.
I found this mating Notoaeschna sagittata pair
hanging off vegetation by a west-facing cliff along Tamboritha Rd.
You often find darners like this resting on sunny cliff faces during the day and roosting at night.
