Gippsland Dragonflies and Orchids

15 January 2012

Started off early in the Alpine National Park where orchids were the main quarry. Saw a lot of greenhoods including this one that was like a small Pterostylis/Diplodium atrans yet different (perhaps a hybrid).

First stop for dragonflies turned out to be the best stop at Little River Falls (north-western corner of the Snowy River National Park) as there were numerous species in good number about. I am unsure about the Hemigomphus species — could be H. gouldii or H. heteroclytus, which look too similar for me to tell apart.
