Berwick, Cranbourne and Olinda
27 November 2011
Although it was still a little drizzly by the time we got to Wilson Botanic Park in the morning the weather was slowly clearing.
Although there was a fair bit flowering I didn't take too many photos here.
In the afternoon we went to Royal Botanic Gardens, Cranbourne and almost immediately saw
Southern Brown Bandicoot Isoodon obesulus
There were also many New Holland Honeyeaters Phylidonyris novaehollandiae
feeding on the many flowering plants but they were hard to photograph as they mostly spent time inside bushes.
With the recent rains there were many frogs singing their chorus in the swampy areas,
including the Southern Brown Tree Frog Litoria ewingii
As the sun had warmed the afternoon, on the way home I stopped off at Olinda for possible dragonflies.
Only briefly saw one but got distracted by the butterflies.
