Little Desert

12 October 2011

Another search in Little Desert and this time we found our targeted species, which the co-ordinator seemed very happy about.

There were often holes in the ground made by various small animals — I lucked a spider out of its hole. Many things your don't notice until they move, like this well camouflaged grasshopper that blends well into the sandy ground.

Lizards are harder to photograph when they are warm enough to scarper. I saw a couple run out in different directions of a bush and managed to sneak close enough to this one, but it appears to only be a common Jacky Lizard Amphibolurus muricatus.
