NSW-QLD Day 9
7 April 2011
Started off at Bunya Mountains National Park, quite a beautiful spot.
Although too cold (at about 1000m altitude on a mild day) for much invertebrate activity
I still saw some butterflies and a new dragonfly: Sigma Darner Austroaeschna sigma
I first saw a male while driving and was not able to get a decent photo
but a short distance later I stopped for lunch at a picnic spot and a female landed on some railing
only a few metres from me and sunned itself.
In the evening I made it to Lake Broadwater
(south-west of Dalby).
Although dark by the time I got here I saw many frogs on the road close to the park
— hopefully I have identified them correctly.
