A few days ago I visited this dam in Bunyip State Park
and took some blurry photos of a little damsel that I couldn't identify.
Passing it on to more knowledgeable people it was probably one seen very rarely
in Victoria (only having been recorded possibly 2 times in the state).
If it was such a significant find then I had to return.
At first I found much of the same as I'd seen a few days earlier
so I started experimenting with my camera (mainly trying out raw mode).
As I started heading back I saw one of the tiny insects,
so started taking photos like crazy.
Unfortunately, at only about 2cm long, these are very hard to photograph
and many of my photos were shocking.
A selection of my better photos of the Splendid Longlegs Austrocnemis splendida are below,
as well as some more common species.
Some of the images are reasonably large, a penalty when playing around with raw formats. :)
