South Gippsland Day 3

17 February 2008

A hot day was forecast so I decided not to visit the places I had no maps for anyway and chose Tarra-Bulga National Park instead. I had never been to this park and had wanted to for some time.

Tarra River itself (through the valley) was quite nice but I saw surprisingly few dragonflies. The condition the river appeared to be in I was expecting many, even returning along the valley late in the day I saw few.

First major stop was the Tarra Velley Rainforest Walk, a very nice, cool temperate rainforest. I even saw some fungi. Coming back later in the day I had hoped to see some dragonflies here but only saw one unidentifiable one briefly.

Most of the day was spent strolling along the walks around Bulga and the Suspension Bridge. Quite a nice area too, and I saw some dragonflies too (the same I saw at the Prom the previous day).
