I was happy to see many dragonflies in Bunyip State Park.
There's a nice dam on Button Grass Nature Trail
(near the intersection of Camp Rd and Gembrook-Tonimbuk Road)
that I discovered relatively recently.
Unfortunately the dam is quite deep, making odonata photography difficult.
Afterwards, returning through Gembrook, I mate a late decision
to visit Cockatoo Creek at the bottom of Gembrook Park.
There I was most happy to size up a
Multi-spotted Darner, Austroaeschna multipunctata.
As you can see, they have a wing-span of about 8cm (taking prallax into account)
and beautiful blue eyes.
