I got out of Snowy River NP straight away that morning.
However turning the corner after leaving the campground I startled a flock of
Rainbow Bee-eaters.
I tried to get photos of them but they kept their distance.
I'd never seen these attractive birds before so this lifted my spirits.
After crossing McKillop Bridge
I made several stops along the Deddick River until getting lost in Errinundra National Park,
ending up going the wrong way down a couple of roads and then my fuel light went on.
I actually hate the way my car does this – the light went on just after saying there was 140km left in the tank.
Once the light goes on the trip computer stays black with regards to range so I was only guessing
but being about 100km from Orbost I felt reasonably safe I'd make it back to civilisation.
Here's a
map
of my trip.
It a bit inaccurate as Google has some bugs in the tracks south of the NP and I actually did a big circle of about 40km
(where point C is the south-east of that circle).
Point D is nothing special, just something I put on there to tell Google Maps to go back on the main road.
